WALKING, HIKING & BIKING
Falkland Islands
The Falkland Islands’ rugged wilderness offers marvellous opportunities to truly get away from it all with walking options ranging from hiking the hills or coastlines for a day to short strolls around the local settlements.
Hiking in the Falkland Islands
The islands offer the freedom to explore, unhindered by the restriction of any barriers or walking trails, with incredible unspoiled wilderness all around. Accompanied by the natural sounds of just the wind and the local wildlife, the Falkland Island’s open terrain topped by ridge-like tors offers a real sense of isolation. In some places, it’s highly unusual to even meet another human being.

Sea Lion Island
Formerly a working sheep farm, Sea Lion Island comprises two flat, rocky plateaux joined by a broad sandy beach and is one of the Falkland Island’s premier wildlife tourism sites. Home to the most southerly British hotel in the world, the island’s 2,236 acres provide easy walking where you can spot impressive wildlife such as the most important breeding site for elephant seals in the Falklands.
