Bird Watching
Although it can be practised anywhere, even in an urban environment, combining it with a trip to a remote island can be an ideal way to see some of the rarest and most beautiful birds in the world without the crowds. As well as the popular, well-known destinations, you’ll also find many less-visited countries and regions, including frontier destinations taking you to some of the most remote places on the planet, where others rarely if ever tread.
Each country has its own unique variety of species. Some small islands have even evolved their own unique complement of species, with their existence solely dependent on that specific habitat on a tiny speck of land, isolated afloat on an otherwise unwelcoming sea.
So whether you’re a committed twitcher looking to add a few species to your list, or you merely fancy an idle spot of bird watching, pick up a pair of binoculars, grab a guidebook and notepad and head to the islands!
